About Sabrina

Sabrina Heisey grew up in Charlestown and West Roxbury, the third of four children.  Coming from a large family, Sabrina learned young the importance of cooperation, hard work, and the value of community.  Sabrina attended Boston Latin Academy, and received a BS in Computer Science from Wentworth Institute of Technology.  She currently manages grants and budgets for scientific research at Children's Hospital.

Sabrina has lived in Dracut for 11 years, with her husband and their six children: the eldest of Sabrina's four girls was a baby when her two boys joined her as their "forever family."  Sabrina is a founder of the Greater Lowell League of Women Voters, a director of the Dracut Mom's Group, a Girl Scout leader, and an elected member of the Dracut School Committee.  She is also an active supporter of adoption in Massachusetts, and frequently participates in and speaks at events in support of adoption.

In 2017, Sabrina ran for the Dracut School Committee against a three-term incumbent.  Despite being considered an unlikely win, she ran a highly efficient and well-organized campaign that highlighted her concerns about the budget, about the high fees families face, and about various social and administrative issues facing the school.

Sabrina quickly realized that the largest issues facing local school districts are actually based around directives and regulations at the state level.  Her decision to run for the Massachusetts House of Representatives (more formally known as the Massachusetts General Court) is a direct result of her passion for community engagement and for working towards a brighter future for Massachusetts residents.

Sabrina envisions a future for Massachusetts where schools are fairly and adequately funded, where our tax dollars are spent on the public good instead of corporate welfare, where LGBTQA+ people are afforded equal rights, where women and families have control over their reproductive health, and where Massachusetts strengthens its strict gun laws.

Unlike many other candidates, Sabrina does not have a campaign "war chest," or deep pockets with which to self-fund her campaign.  If Sabrina's vision for Massachusetts appeals to you, please consider supporting her campaign.
